Glen Spean and the Great Glen is truly the Crossroads of the Highlands of Scotland – all routes lead to this area!
From the South - take the picturesque A82 from Glasgow, through the Loch Lomond National Park, dramatic Glencoe and past Loch Linnhe.
From the North - the A82 follows the world famous Loch Ness from Inverness, plus a number of scenic lochs which make up the Caledonian Canal.
From the East - the Highlands' main arterial route, the A9, transports you from Edinburgh in the south, or Inverness and beyond in the North. At Dalwhinnie, join the A86 to head west into our area, carrying you past imposing, rugged landscapes.
From the West - arriving from Mallaig or Skye? The A890, more romantically referred to as the 'Road to the Isles', transports you from the silver sands of the coast, past Glenfinnan with its monument and viaduct, skirting Fort William and offering the best views of Ben Nevis.

Edinburgh, Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick all receive international as well as internal flights. Inverness is the closest airport to our area and is well served by national routes. They all offer a wide choice of car hire operators, and onward train travel to our area is possible from Glasgow International and Edinburgh.

The main rail link to the area is the West Coast line running from London Euston. This runs on a daily basis and if preferred a night sleeper can be booked whereby you can leave London in the evening and arrive in the Scottish Highlands bright and early the next morning.

Coaches regularly run from Fort William, Oban, Skye Inverness and Glasgow to this area. For the latest timetables and fares, check out www.citylink.co.uk
The early (or latter!) stages of the Great Glen Way will bring you through our area. Many walkers break the journey at Gairlochy (then stay in Spean Bridge) and at South Laggan or Invergarry the following day.
